Rasharkin Primary School was full of colour, creativity and excitement as we celebrated World Book Day! Pupils arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, showcasing a wonderful range of costumes inspired by much‑loved stories.
We were delighted to welcome the children from Rasharkin Community Playgroup, who joined us for a special storytelling session. Our P6/7 pupils took great pride in reading to the younger visitors, sharing their enthusiasm for books and helping to inspire a love of reading from an early age.
Our School Councillors also played a key role in the day by planning and delivering a fantastic Book Hunt. Pupils worked together to find book hidden throughout the school, making it a fun and engaging way to explore the world of books.
Throughout the day, classes took part in a variety of book‑themed activities—celebrating stories, imagination and the joy of reading.
It was a wonderful day of literacy, laughter and learning. Well done to everyone for getting involved!
